    Lightbulb Please review my website

    Hi all,

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

I am looking for some constructive feedback on my website. Can you please review Lanter Technologies | IT Services and let me know your thoughts on the following?

    Do you understand
    - what service we provide?
    - who are we targeting? home/business
    - Would you use this service if you needed help?

To answer your last question first: no, and I might like to. The reason? I have no idea whether or not it would fit what I'm doing. Yes, you do "IT". That's like saying "I'm a doctor." "You're a doctor?" "F**KIN' RIGHT I'm a doctor!" (Look up that reference at your own risk.)

Since IT covers a wide variety of topics and disciplines, it would be better if we knew what you actually did within IT, as Ron suggested. The only one I could see that would be of any potential use would be hosting services, and without seeing prices and server offerings, I'm moving right along.

If I had to guess what type of customer you're targeting, I'd say "Mid-Sized Corporation with Loads of Capital and at Least 85% Blind Follower Groupthink Employees." It's not small business, unless the small business is a corporate wannabe; most of the small businesses that I deal with would probably listen to your sales pitch for about 23.7 seconds before saying things to you that aren't family-friendly. You're not really saying anything specific. Your copy is pure generic corporatespeak. Now, that may work for you...but it probably won't just because you're not distinguishing yourself from the other generic corporatespeakers. "Simplify Your IT..." "Proactive..." "Cloud..." Throw in a few "scalable"s and "robust"s and I'm probably reaching for the blue pill. Mind you, I'm the exact opposite of the customer you should be targeting, so making me mildly nauseous might actually be a good thing here.

The other thing you're going to have an issue with is your choice of platform. I'm a little surprised no one else has caught this, but using Wix will create search engine issues (difficult to find/index content, despite what Wix says to the contrary) and issues involving responsiveness (resize your browser window to see what I'm referring to), among others. If you're competing in the "IT Space", you'd arguably be better off building your site from scratch using static HTML than Wix. Heck, there's even an argument for WordPress here...and for me to say that, your platform has to be a disaster.
If I've helped you out in any way, please pay it forward. My wife and I are walking for Autism Speaks. Please donate, and thanks.

If someone helped you out, be sure to "Like" their post and/or help them in kind. The "Like" link is on the bottom right of each post, beside the "Share" link.
