I'm a developer, not a designer. But yet, if you paid $2400 AUD it's not worth it. It's a Shopify template:

    https://shopify.github.io/Timber/

With minimal customization, default products, and a default cart flow. There's nothing in here.

Notice that I didn't say you got ripped off. The template isn't worth it. However, you may not be paying strictly for the template. What we don't know is how much back and forth went into even getting this far. How many times the guy had to reach out to you. Whether there were four-hour phone calls or meetings where nothing got accomplished. Those sorts of things can make things like this more expensive. There's no way to know. Did you receive a site worth $2400? No. Was there $2400 worth of effort put into things? Can't say.

Now...would I finish this? No. I wouldn't have even started on Shopify and I don't touch it. I build carts. I don't use toys. That doesn't mean someone else will.

as I understood this site is a template for Online store, right? If so, I believe Online store is very specific niche involving offline retails, logistic, financial translations and many more. Companies who able to perform all these tasks to settle the store should have funds to hire a graphical designer to create authentic style and site. Unlikely they would use stock templates.

In same time, idea and implementation are good, design is clear and simple. I would expand the target audience for more specific professionals, who is looking to build "one person company", e.g. private teacher. It is rather common for professionals build a quick site describing their business. Available stock templates are quite generic and not good for specific professionals.
