How Would You Price This Website - Advice

    Hi Friends!

Nice to digitally meet everyone. I am new to the webdesignforms community and excited to be here!

    Question for the pros.

I am just about finished completing a website pro bono for a family member. I am fairly new at web design and I was curious to see a ballpark price someone would charge for the following site?--> chicagobubblesoccer.com

I manipulated a template I purchased from themeforest.

Any pricing feedback would be great! I know pricing ultimately lies in my hands but I was just curious to see what something like this can go for.

    Much appreciated!

You need to optimize the website, Your images are big in mb and it's making the site load to slow. You need to use an image editor and downsize the large banner images, and all images on the site.

I put the image with the green grass in Photoshop and it was about 430k. I optimized it and brought it down less that 100k. Optimize all of your large slider images and you'll see your site load much faster.

That could cause you some problems with the search engines and could produce a high bounce rate with viewers to the site.

    Good luck

Thank you very much for your feedback. I agree. Do you know of any plugins that can optimize the images? Or just good old fashioned photoshop editing? Basically, how would you optimize the images? Many thanks for your advice!!

There are plugins to optimize images but I would suggest you use Photoshop or another imaging program.
One thing you don't want to do is load a Wordpress site with a lot of plugins for security and load times.

Using Photoshop you have more control over your images and they'll continue to work where a plugin can fail you.

If you do not have Photoshop, Adobe has made CS2 a free download and activated with their Serial Number. I know it works as high as Windows 7. It also has another excellent imaging program with it called ImageReady. Two girls in my office use ImageReady over Photoshop all the time. My husband also uses it more than Photoshop.

If you can use CS2 here is the download link to get it. Before you download it be sure to get the Adobe Serial Number on the same page. youtube is one of your best friends in leaning Photoshop. Just search for how to optimize images in Photoshop CS2, which most of them work the same way.
