Attention...may I have you opinion plz...

I don't think I've found my "style" yet...or don't know if I'll ever have one. But I would like your opinion on these 2 concept layouts, and please tell me if you like either, none, or what you would change about either one. Both images are not for the same site.

Your second site looks fairly 'big'. Big as in the menus are big. They look fairly chunky in a way, so I would consider maybe making them a little smaller if possible. On the other hand your first design is a lot smaller. The news tables look to small for anything to really fit in them, and the featured designs writing on the side it a little annoying in my opinion.
All in all I prefer your second design if it is a little smaller, both designs are good, but design one is a little to small and random. The second looks more professional from where I'm standing, but like I said above, the buttons need sorting.

    Good Luck.

I agree pretty much with Daniel.Oliver (the sideways text on concept one is annoying). Also I don't really like the fact that there are two menus (in concept two), surely these could be put into one.
With some work they could be some nice designs.

Yeah, The two menus could be easily sorted and put together, and it will make navigation for visitors some what easier. The ideas are there, they just need tidying up and developed further.

i think #1 is the best now, because the light collors and small menu`s.
if you can make edges a bit 'rounder' and add some other stuff at the bottom it would rock

I like the first design better, I agree that the menu is pretty large on the second layout. Also, the blue in the banner and the blue on the rest of the site doesn't work well together, IMO.

In the first one, you have alot of different patterns working there. Try eliminating a few, and using the same few patters on the different elements of the site. Nice work.

My only comment about your post is that you should never really develop *A* style.... you should adapt each design you do to the needs of your customer, and design something appropriate to those needs.

    True genius supercedes style.

Thanks for all of the comments & crticisms....I'll change both a bit taking all comments into consideration & see if I can't make them appeal to the masses.

To Transio: I thought the same thing....but I see many designers fall into a category and many of their sites end up looking the same.

Number 2 I find too big, namely the text (and I'm using 1280x1024 rez here) - kinda chunky looking.

Number 1 is a bit better in that department, but not really liking the overall effect of it.

Also, I find both sites are using too much blue to my taste.
