Both are pretty cool designs, the second is possibly nicer in my opinion, although there is no major difference. The blue content box gives it a nice finish.

Good work, the both look good from where I am standing.

The banner is a bit boring...

However if the content on the site is really good, you dont need a really cool banner...

The blur effect is a thing of the past, and your last three designs have used the exact same design, with different colors. If they're done right, the bevel doesn't look trendy, because it shows depth, which is a real life element.

As for this design fgfgfh, the banner is kind of plain, and it looks very different on LCD and CRT monitors. The main difference is that it looks very light on a CRT, and more vibrant on an LCD. The "Photoshop, Illustrator, Imageready" links are too light to read on my CRT as well. Cool design, I'd try to spruce up the banner though.

i think that the bevel sets it off, its a nice effect that was used correctly. as for the banner, most tutorial sites have an extensive banner, ie photoshopcafe.com and more. i would def. recomend that you spruce it up.

who decides whats a thing of the past and when i can stop using things :ermm: ?

your last three designs have used the exact same design, with different colors
theyre all gonna be linked together - this is the tutorial section.

thanks spluff , the banner could probably use some work, maybe a logo or some unecessary photoshop showing off, maybe the minimal effect isnt working

    i agree
