Your colors need work - white text on bright red background = no returning visitors. blue hyperlinks on bright red background = no returning visitors. (check "How's My Site?" do's and dont's)
try to make your headings stand out, they're to similar to the sub-heading.
Your text is fuzzy and scrunched together.
Add some rollovers or something to let the visitor know that your page "works"
Loose the "Click to Enter" page, it's useless and it frustrates visitors.

page loads quickly.
I liked the reviews.
Is this a magazine subscription or your personal Rant & Rave?

The red is way to bright. That should be the first color you change. Check out the link in my profile for a good site to find a color scheme.
Also, you should slice up the design and type the text in using HTML. It will look better, be indexable by search engines, and users will be able to treat it as normal text (copy/paste). However, you can only use a limited amount of webfonts when you do this. The headings can be graphics, but I wouldn't make the entire site one big graphics.
Finally, how bout some content!? Your homepage is all links. Give me a reason to stay on your site. Put the first paragraph of a few stories up there, a picture or two, something. This looks more like a directory than a homepage.
yep im going for a featured panel down the side with a bit of what is in each article (im gonna go for about 3) but keep it mainly visual, and im gonna go for an editiorial bock on the first page as well.
also im gonna go for a pasteup feal, with bits of newspaper and felt pen and that, i may just go for plain white under that.
As far a speed is concerned i recon that using <div>'s is way faster than a table am i right?

want'a red bg still?
np you can keep it but thing is that there are very blank space....
so visitor have nothing to see except small image and text....
build a structure... make layout rich with graphics and specially give a border to whole site so site will look structured....
i have a great designed site with red bg but url is not handy now i will post it here later
best of luck

Better than the last. It's alternative which is cool, but it's a very slow download. Also, the black borders are a little thick IMO.
