    I am building a site for a friend of mine who is a youth pastor, and he wanted me to come up with a new look for his site. Please critique it for me, it isn't functional yet, im in the design stage... here it is -

    Not bad. It's a little on the small side, but if it fits all your information without looking crammed, then it works. One thing though is that it appears to be offcentered at all resolutions. Putting this whole design in a table and centering the table would ensure that this design is centered at all resolutions. Also, preload your mouseovers. Good start.

    Nice work!

    I say that only because I looked at your source code because if I didn't this site makes no sense at all. I see that you say it is incomplete but I really cannot give you a real opinion before I see all this work.

    I see three distinct javascript functions that seem pretty complicated and I am interested in seeing the end result because it looks as though it will change the pictures and text. Also some other complicated html that seems to need some sorting out. I LOVE the use of the preloader! I see some really intense javascript here and its hard to follow but I can't seem to find in the html where you are calling the functions.........

    I'd love to see the end result!

    Thanks for the feedback you guys... I will work on those issues you suggested! any more feedback in the future is very appreciated... this gives me some great ideas... Also, it is mainly a personal site for him and his youth group, so the information at first is going to be fairly small, as the content grows the site will get larger.

    To be honest with you I am not to keen on it. I think it would maybe look better a little bigger, and a change of colour scheme.

    You got a good basic idea, but you need to extend your ideas further and it will be a lot better.

    Good luck,
    Daniel.

    Good start..

    I personally dont like the color scheme too. For example the text box with white bg and black border doesnt fit there. Try some subtle blue for it's background.. maybe..

    Also "The God Focused Ministry" text is hardly readable.. white etxt on light blue bg.. maybe you want it this way, I dont know

    I also think that you should center the whole design.

    you can use simple table based centering:

    Code:
    <body>
    <table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0">
     <tr>
      <td align="center">
      	<!-- your design here -->
      </td>
     </tr>
    </table>
    </body>
