First up, this is a PHP-Nuke (www.phpnuke.net) site. We're a group of 12-20 guys who play Formula1 games in a competition that follows the F1 calendar.

I've done a pretty good job of creating a theme for the site. Just tell me what you think.

We have very little traffic, but the front page needed a spruce up, and I immediately got into php-nuke. The forum is a separate plain-old phpBB installation that we've always had, so ignore that pls!

Not bad, wouldn't mind seeing a little bit more color though. The red and black is a logical color scheme, see if some more red can be worked into it.

Also, a minor issue, the first box in the middle of the page needs a black border around it. The other boxes have it, and it looks better, IMO.

It's quite a nice design, but I'd ike to see some rollovers, and perhaps a little colour, as Splufdaddy said.

I think the text linkage system would look better with some rollovers? Nice site so far, 3/5.

It could really do with some more colour and also some nice roll overs.

Will make the site a little more excitting and less ordinary to the visitors.

    good luck.

    Thx guys.

Spluf, that top box is rendered with a light grey border on a white background in the original theme, but on this one it doesn't show up because of the brushed aluminium. I looked to change it, but I couldn't find where.

You all think we should incorporate some more colour--I think maybe the top-right message box could balance it out. If it's all red and grey people will think we're ferrari lovers, so I want to include some blue, maybe even green.

Rollovers--I take it you're referring to the nav buttons at the top. I've experimented with using table in the style [minicode]<td><a href="index.php"><div width="100%">Home</div></a></td>[/minicode]. That only gives you a change in text colour. I guess you can swap images or td class using onmouseover and onmouseout events.

The attached file has roll-overs on the buttons. They have a normal, hover, and clicked state. What do u think?

Good, i like the clicked state, though I'd make the hover state a little more pronounced to be honest.

Green on magenta more pronounced or just whiter? ;-)

    Do you like the transparency?

Yeah, transparency is good. My more pronounced I mean to allow it to be more obviously a rolloverable link .

    * UPDATE *

I've added roll-over effects. It's still mostly grey with a bit of red, but there's 4 themes for users to choose from, and they can change to FIHSchill if they want a complete change.

    FIHSaluminum: Site default, metallic look.
    FIHSchill: My favourite, translucent blue.
FIHSfiber: Basic theme, just FIHSaluminium without the aluminium.
FIHSclassic: Duplicates the look of the old site.

    EDIT
If you guys have ideas for adding a splash of colour to it, feel free to speak out!
