I'm the last person who should be giving advice, none the less you asked for it. Not sure what the purpose of the website is, but generally people don't want their visitors to leave, so to me making target="_blank" would be a healthy solution. But watch, someone will come in with a better idea yet.

this is a list about spain. so don't go opening things in new windows, leave it how it is.

use this to find a color scheme: http://colormatch.dk/

try to find guides for XHTML and CSS - that'll make your job a whole lot easier once you can do it. If you're really dedicated buy Desiging with web standards, by www.zeldman.com

you seem to have the right structure to the site, just make it a bit more visually appealing. Use CSS so you can delete all those font tags. Use XHTML to try to make sure your site works on most browsers and devices.

Also it looks as though you have a lot of table cells, maybe you could set the border to "0" on them, it would make viewing much easier. Also, try to center the page content so it lines up with the centered stuff at the footer of your page.

On top of what's been said, be sure to look at your site in a browser other than IE. In Mozilla, there are lots of borders visible in your table.

Also, some pictures would help. Here is a thread that lists a number of great stock photography sites, some of which are free for commercial use. These are two of my favorites from the list:

    http://www.morguefile.com
    http://www.sxc.hu

www.freefoto.com is an excellent site for photos, but there's a charge for commercial use.

Yes centering the page for larger resolutions is a good idea.

The site as it is doesnt make me cringe but it doesnt make me go wow either. Maybe try adding some nice graphics or something, or playing with colours if you want to make it look better.

I also noticed that the tooltips on your flags are wrong.
