New site is too dark for my tastes. Try to use some more of the colors in your current site, or you could devlop a new color scheme using the link in my signature.

unclekyky, your old site is nice but needs work if you want to keep it, your new site looks ok, but I think its format needs something to break up the squareness (the shape )

Maybe try to do something with your nav buttons, and your 'Navigation' text is too dark. I think you can develop this new design into a great site, but it needs to conform less and inspire more, as a tutorials site should.

It's in my signature for a reason. Most of the sites posted here for review suffer from A.C.S.S. (Awful Color Scheme Syndrome). They have a decent layout in place, but their choice of pink and green just isn't pleasing to the eyes. Either that or they have a black background with illedgible text.
