I recently revamped my site and would really appreciate some input on my site design. I'm strictly an amateur and this is my first "real" website (though it has gone through a few revisions over time). Please feel free to highlight any good and bad points. I think that it's the best way for me to learn. Thanks!!

Nice site, though it is hard to distinguish between the site and 'advertising elements' Good design and some interesting content. Cathcy domain as well!

    Good things:

    - simple and effective
    - nice and readble fonts
    - cool content ( one of my hobbies is fishing )

    Bad Stuff:

    - the colors of the header and the menu are too dark
    - look at the shadow of your menu closely...you can see white allover it.

    Good Luck! :cheeky:

I didn't notice the white until you pointed it out! Perhaps the alpha-transparancy is matching the default background color of the page rather than matching the gradient image that I have running across the background?

Also, you're right about the header and menu being too dark. I wanted a "cool" look but it does seem a bit too industrial for the subject. Maybe a bluish tone would work better. Any color recommendations?

Thanks for all of the input everyone! It's great to get feedback from fellow web designers. This site is great!

Simple & fairly clean layout, though a bit to gray to my liking (gray body, gray header, gray cont bg) and the page is a bit long. It'd be nice to see the forums match the site layout/colours as well.
