Before i get going on putting content in, i am wondering what you guys think i can change about the page so far. Maybe get rid of the gray or a darker gray?

    http://www.wideopenwest.com/~tdicicco9988/bobson/

I really need some input on this. Thanks a lot guys.

EDIT: That is the correct link, but i have updated it since then and this message does not correspond with the site.

Looks ok, I ghuess its jsut the grey. Not sure what color would do best, But have all of those wood-ish colors around and then a big grey content box dosnt look correct. looks good though. 3/5 for design.

Ok i think i got rid of the gray problem. Now i am worried about the edges of the page. They just look to "square". Any suggestions?

Round them off at the top, keep the corners square at the bottom.

Quite nice, though it's rather an odd font you've used for the navigation... Set your top & bottom margins to zero and then the site will look better blended in with the page.

ironhacker, its just webspace provided by my ISP that i use for testing purposes only. It was probably just not loading correctly at the time you checked it. The space they gave me is pretty bad. I imagine it would be international?

But i updated the site and created basically the entire first page. Keep in mind it is supposed to be a basic site, just something different than the previous web designer.

    Here is the link again
    http://www.wideopenwest.com/~tdicicco9988/bobson/

Here is an alternate body layout that i kind of like
    http://www.wideopenwest.com/~tdicicc...on/index2.html

Just want some feedback on what i can do to make it better looking without redesigning the entire site, lets be practical .

Thanks for the advice on the margins just.

hmmm..I don't know from where to start.

    - you forgot to write a title
    - I don't like that background
    - there is a white spot behind the shadow of the header...

that's for now. I'll maybe add something later.

    - I dont add titles until the end, i know there isnt a title.
    - I talked to the client, he wants to get rid of the grid if that is the bg u are talking about, and it will just be plain white. He also wants me to scale down the opacity of the lightwood main bg. i am currently doing that
    - i dont know what you mean by a white spot, could u be more specific.

    - Also, if any of you use GoLive, do you know about the components. I'm not sure if its in other web apps, but it is a huge timesaver on editing and creating pages.

    Thanks.

Great graphics - lets you know right off what kind of business the site is offering.

I'd put the mission statement someplace else. It is a little self-serving for a homepage. The page needs to grap the visitors attention and make them what to click on something to find out more.

The key benefits are a bit standard. You need to make this customers business standout from the crowd. Right now looks like they are one of million, they need to be one in a million.
