The header needs a lot of work. I was scrolling up to try and find a top to the header. I would suggest using the font and text effect from the header on your forums in the main page. This will help unify the site because the main page header is odd.
The icons are great!
Good luck with the site! It looks fine other than the headers.

I'd agree with zionlocke. The header on the forums looks a lot nicer than your main header.
My only other criticism is that the headers underneath each of the forum titles on http://www.sportspunters.com/forums/ (forums, topics, replies, etc.) are very hard to read. Either lighten the background or the text up on that.
Looks pretty cool (other than the main) overall though. Too bad you don't offer any tips on my favourite sport, baseball.

The text is too far down from the header (which I agree with the comments about, just use the one from the forums).
