This is a little school project Benjihalpern and I have been working on. It is a project for the prevention of youth violence so we decided to do a website. Tell us what you think of it so far. There isn't a whole lot of content right now but we're working on that.

I know it looks crappy and I acknoledged that. But I'm just looking for reviews on the overall design. I'm just saying the navs could be fixed but I'm not going to.

The site is okay, goes for the basic use; though lots of improvement could be made.

The part I'm really impressed about is the topic of your website. Your website is for good cause, it's about youth violence, about finding solutions to something as horrible as that.

I've got my thumbs up for your project; keep up the good work and get some content to your website.

    Takes too long to load.

It's a great theme and a laudable aim, but this is still the Net, most users are on dial-up.... and if I'm surfing, I tend to go for usable rather than laudable.

From a design point of view, I thought that a large image of a gun was not the best page background you might have chosen. How about the effects of violence? Seeing the effects seems to have more success when they run road safety campaigns. Some of the 'bullying' images might cause more mirth than consternation in the target audience.

And some of the links on your page are not what I would expect, given the theme...

Good luck with your efforts, though.

The website is trying to convey a positive message, yet it's a dark and depressing website. The red on black doesn't work for me. Red on black is a bad choice for most websites anyways IMO, as 99% of clan sites choose that color scheme. But you're trying to convey a positive message, and you're site is hard to read and looks negative. Take a look at the websites of some other organizations. I doubt you'll find such a depressing appearance. A violent video game could use this same website design with very few changes. That should say something.
