    I've been thinking for days. I wanted to create something that looked like this:

    http://www.watchanimeon.com/anime/skip-beat/

    With the preview image at the top with information and posts from the category listed at the bottom(Episode 153 etc.)

    What I don't understand is, how did he/she set it up?

    When I navigate through the website, it looks like this:
    Home>
    Full list of episodes( http://www.watchanimeon.com/anime-list/ ) >
    The category/post/page for the information and list of episodes (http://www.watchanimeon.com/anime/skip-beat/ )>
    Single posts/pages/categories with the video ( http://www.watchanimeon.com/skip-beat-episode-25-final/ ).

    Simple:
    Home>List of categories/pages/posts>Information page with a list> Single post/page/category with the episode.

    I just don't get it, how?

    Thanks.

    Looks like either:
    1) They're using a scraping plugin to gather that data and automatically post it via pages
    2) Or they are using manual editing but using pages, not posts.

    Any time you use pages in WordPress you control the navigation and perma-links. Hope that helps.

    Yes!!! Thanks alot.

    But I have one more question. What do you think about the "genres" thing. They are somehow able to list all the pages with the tag "comedy" etc. At the end of the url, they have a ?genre=comedy.

    That is the custom fields option for pages... When you're editing a page or creating a new one, there is an option at the bottom that says custom fields... You just add one that says genre as the field name and value of comedy... Then as he did you can query that custom field data by using that field name in the URL string.

    Would you care to explain this a bit more?

    kinda like a custom plugin... not too hard to do if you're familiar with the functions wordpress uses... but basically, just insert that "genere" field into the posts "Custom Field" (when writing a post) and set that plugin to pull out of that custom field when the page is queried.

    Now they could also be using "generes" as tags too... just renamed... or it could very well be the categorization.

    The more I think about it the more I think its fancy use of categories... hes got 2 main categories...

    and doing something like this...

    Code:
    <?php
    if(wp_parent_category() == "generes")
      {
      echo ('Genere: ' . wp_current_category());
      }
    ?>
    And same for the other way.
