    I have a blog at http://digitalinsite.ca/

    When you click on the link "Blog", up in in the address bar and in the tab where the page is open you will see the little animated favicon for my site.

    Yet when you click on "Read the rest of this entry" and go into the single posts, or click on the Random Quotes page or the Contact page, it disappears.

    I have it hard-coded into the header.php file in the theme for WordPress - you can check the source and see it there, at about line 12 - why is it not showing?!?

    A big batch of chocolate chip cookies to whoever can help me solve this puzzle...

    Just an idea, have you tested it WITHOUT wordpress? So just building a html page locally, and than check if it works ?

    Or something with your cache? You could try to empty your cache. Allso empty any cache-plugins for WordPress

    Yeah, it works for my whole site at http://digitalinsite.ca

    Done and done. Still not showing up.

    The thing that makes me nuts is it shows on only the main Wordpress page - when you click on "Blog" - on the rest of the pages ("Random Quotes", "Contact", and any page opening to an individual post) it does not show up.

    I can only think that maybe these pages use a different header, but then why is it showing up when I look at the "view source"?

    I dont see any favicon, not even on the home site...

    You did hardcode it, but did you try like this:

    "http://digitalinsite.ca/animated_favicon1.gif"

    instead of "animated_favicon1.gif"

    What browser are you using?

    I see it in Firefox, Safari, Chrome and Opera, but not in IE (since it is an animated favicon, and therefore a .gif file, and IE only recognizes .ico files ).

    Ok i know what your problem is...

    you have it hard coded like this:

    <link rel="icon" type="image/gif" href="animated_favicon.gif">

    instead of that, use this:

    <link rel="icon" type="image/gif" href="http://digitalinsite.ca/blog/animated_favicon.gif">

    That should do the trick.
    I am SURE.

    OK - I did that and now it's not even showing on the main page.

    And yes, I've uploaded the image file to the root of the blog, the path is correct.

    check it at http://digitalinsite.ca/blog/animated_favicon1.gif
