I’m trying to get Wordpress to act like an HTML site in regard to placing several categories (graphics) on the left obar panel with pages below it. I would like to have 4 or 5 different categories with pages below them. Right now all of my pages go under the “Pages” graphics category. My blog posts are underneath the graphical heading called “Categories” or I should say, one click away inside the different category links.

When I am in the admin section of wordpress I don’t see how to put my pages into different categories besides the default “Pages”. I also don’t see how to put posts so they show as pages on the left obar. I’m using a static homepage.

Here is my test website and all help will be greatly appreciated: breakfasthouse.net

There is a plugin that allows you to assign categories and tags to pages - is this what you are after?

If you feel that someone's post helped you fix your problem, answered your question, or just made you feel better, feel free to "Like" their post. The "Like" link is at the bottom right of each post, along side the "reply" link. And if you are being helped here, try to help someone else - pass it on!

    Hi,
not sure if this is what you mean but, in the wp admin area you will see the 'Appearance' drop down box. Under this is the 'widgets' page. You simply drag the desired widgets across to the sidebar where you want them to show up.

    Hope this helps
