I知 trying to build a Wordpress website for a non-profit service project. I知 using the Platform theme (not PRO) and am having a problem.

The first time I tried to change the Page Content Background Color (Settings, Basic) it worked fine. But when I changed the color again it stopped working altogether and I can no longer change othe Page Content BAckgrond Color OR the Body BAckgrond Color.

I知 running Windows 7 and using Internet Explorer 8.0 I致e tried deleting all my temporary internet files/data etc.. I closed down IE and then opened it back up. Nothing fixed this problem. Any suggestions?

Would the PRO version take this problem away?

Sounds like a CSS issue, but I could be way off. Can you post a link so I can see the site? if you can't link, spell out the URL (www dot sitename dot com ) If I could see the site maybe I could help.

OK - go into your file called theme.css. You will find this inside the css folder of your theme.

    1. to change the body background color edit line 14.
    2. to change the conent background color edit line 106.

I find the easiest way to do this is to download the files into my editor to find the correct line - WP does not give line counts as far as i know.

    'PLATFORM theme by Pagelines'

I don't currently have access to the folders and files behind the Wordpress application. They reside on a server donated to me. The owner has never given me the FTP information to be able to see them. I do all my design work strictly through the Wordpress interface.

Is there any other way I can accomplish what you showed me?

    Possibly.
Some themes have a main css file that calls others in a specific order, and that seems to be what you have here - but if you can access all your css files thru the backend, you can use Firebug to find the exact wording of the lines that need to be changed, then in the editor you can open the correct file, search for that text in the file and change it.

If not, perhaps you could approach the person who donated the space and ask them for what you need for FTP access?
I am not sure how your theme is set up but it seems to have its own domain, so they could just create an FTP account with specific access to that one directory, fairly simple to do.

    platform_theme by pagelines

    THANKS.

Do you or does anyone out there know the phone number for Pagelines? I'd willing buy their PRO version if I could determine it would accomplish what I want it to.... including work properly for the body and content color settings.
