I'm having trouble setting slugs for static pages on my Wordpress site:

    http://catherineandchloe.co.uk

If I set the slug to, say, 'introduction' I get 'page not found'.

If I set the slug to 'index.php/introduction' (which I'd rather not as it doesn't look so good) it works but breaks all the images.

So I'm stuck with numerical URLs and the friend I'm making this for is not happy with that. Any ideas? I'm running WP 3.2.1 on IIS 6.

I think you would have to use an .htacces file and rewrite the URLs.

    Try this site:

Usually I set the slug to the same as the page name, but in lowercase, and with dashes instead of spaces.
I've never had the problem you are describing.

To change the numerical urls, you would change the permalinks in the settings panel to a custom one. Something like this
    /%postname%/
    Hope that helps.

But she is talking about slugs ( the short description of the page or post that you enter in the editor) not URLs or permalinks.

Well, she did talk about numerical URLs....
What I'm saying is that if you change the permalinks to postname: a page with the title of Introduction will automatically have a slug of introduction and the url will be www.domain. com/introduction.
Then there is no need to change the slug... right?

I think this is the way to go...
