Basic Shopping Cart Question...

Hello,

I've been looking into setting up a shopping cart system for a small online business (never done this before!). However, a lot of the carts I've looked at (CubeCart, Oscommerce) seem to include templates. What do I do if I just want a basic cart for a site I plan to design myself? In other words how do I use the cart without the offered templates?
