Your font-of-the-moment

As I become a more active designer I'm finding myself suddenly inspired by fonts (talk about geeky). Every once in a while I see a font I've known about for more than a decade and suddenly realize it's gloriousness. For me, Impact is taking its toll on me. I just love it... nothing much more to say. It's a great bold font that screams "READ ME"

For a while it was Clarendon, then Georgia... now I'm back to good ol' Impact.

What's your font of the moment? I'd love to collect a collection of great fonts. I find it hard to browse through the thousands available... one at a time I can take.

EDIT: Names of fonts... not actual fonts (meaning don't break copyright rules)

1. Century Gothic - All round stylish/minamalistic general purpose sans-serif.
2. Ariston - Used this on a project for a Dance/Ballet school (similar to the typeface shown on the UK KFC adverts)
3. Haettenschweiler - Heavy weight font with more character than 'Impact' with a bit of an urban/old skool theme about it.

1. As an alternative to Impact/Haettenschweiler, Basic Sans Heavy SF.
2. I use this for text on web sites. It looks good in size 11 I think, it's Tahoma.
3. This is a font if you want something eyecatching and 'weird' but still readable. It's Zrnic.
4. Another font that I like (and so do most people). Curvy, but it looks profesisonal, Century Gothic.

Well. They're some of my favourite fonts. Hope you like em as well! By the way, they're not in any particular order, just as I thought of them

I have many favorite fonts. But two that have stood the test of time are Gill Sans and Adobe Garamond font families.

Verdana has been the stable one for text, even printed text. Others that have made appearances are Trebushet MS, Arial Narrow, and Tahoma. For italics, especially for captions and stuff like that, Georgia in bold is my favourite.

Recently, Lucida Grande and Lucida Sans were added to my list.

However, the font of the moment for me is Bitstream Vera, which is more legible than Verdana IMHO. Absolutely amazing and free (comes with Linux and OO.O).

My "font-of-the-moment" would have to be Magneto. I think it's cool because it looks like a replica font of the Bel Air car symbol made a long time ago.

Depends on what the font is for.

For plain text (as in HTML output):

1. Tahoma (new to the list)
2. Verdana
3. Arial
4. Helvetica
5. sans-serif

For graphical-type stuff:

1. SF Oblique (the A in my avatar).
2. Zurich BT (the font used on the menus on the Adam Web Design site)
3. Futura (that's got a neat look to it).
4. Garamond (has its occasional uses when serif is called for)
5. NewsGothic (still useful on occasion even though it's an MS font)

I thought I was alone with my liking for Haettenschweiler, Avenir and Eurostar are also nice sans fonts.

If you like that, then 'Dicot Medium' or 'Langó' are others you might want to look into, they have a very similar style. I have to say Tahoma works really well for body content, it's more stream lined and less clumbsy than Verdana... Why has it taken so long to discover this? Looks like I'm converting.
