Need site reviewed... seeking better Google rank

Could one of you SEO top dawgs tell me why Google is ignoring my keywords? I have tried to optimize my site to the best of my ability following some of the tips in this forum. Please take a look and let me know if you can see any problems that are hindering my ranking with Google.

Thanks,
Dyno http://www.dougploss.com

Google doesn't use your keywords to list your ranking. If you have lots of backlinks (other sites linking to you) then your ranking will likely be increased) .

I think my main concern is that Google isn't recognizing my keywords. I know I need to remove the commas between keywords, that may help.

You don't understand what I'm saying, dyno.

Google does not read your <meta> keyword tag. Other Search Engines do, but Google does not. Google only recognises keywords used in <h1> and <h2> tags, as well as other things that are mentioned in this post.

Ok, I understand now. I've heard that they are more content oriented.

Speaking of backlinks, is it important to reciprocal link with them?

Thanks,
Dyno

If anything, the opposite is true. It's the reciprocal links that tend to get devalued by Google somewhat. Try to get as many one-way links as possible first, then focus on two-way once you've exhausted all possible one-way links.

It doesn't make a major difference, but it does help to have your hyperlink with your key phrase as the descriptor in your forum sig. As you can see by mine, I've got three sites with my key phrase displayed in mine, and it's helped not only Google, but the other engines as well.
