I've bookmarked your site for future reference - this is a valuable resource and i'm glad I found it before the ban on outside links came into force.

I also think it is a shame to completely deny the posting of external links here. I know I would not want to work for hours on, say, a tutorial for my blog, and then have to worry about duplicate content if I had to post it in its entirety here.

Many of the people here have great depth of knowledge and are so willing to share it, it seems a pity to prevent them from doing so.

I have been pondering this issue for a while.
Perhaps, as a service to those members who are so willing to share their expertise, as well as for those of us who would benefit so greatly from the experience and knowledge, there could be a sub-forum just for the purpose of posting links to members' outside tutorials?

I know this would mean more work for the moderators, as they would have to check to make certain that the outside links were to members' sites, and contained real information, but surely there could be some kind of preliminary vetting procedure, like a certain necessary number of posts, that would prevent spamming? And I am certain that those of us who are legitimately here to learn and share would be careful to report any spammers we found, which might simplify the job somewhat.

Just my 2 cents worth (actually, that's about 1.9 cents U.S., since I'm Canadian)

    Cheers,

Start from a scratch... it's always easy.

It's always easy to create a design from scratch rather then customize a pre-designed theme. So every designer is going for the scratch and also get a chance to make something special related to the site title.

As a newbie to web design, it gives details where other tutorials just assume that the reader knows what they are talking about! Found it very useful! waiting for the rest of the parts!
    Thanks

Thank you so much! I've been looking for a tutorial like this that actually gives you an in-depth look at creating a PROFESSIONAL looking website from scratch. Most tutorials out there just show you hot to use templates or make some corny looking site. I'm definitely bookmarking this for tomorrow.

    Thanks!

    Hi Guys,

Tutorials are a great way to learn how to build websites, we all have to start from some where. I find that templates are a great way to start and once you become better you can move onto building your own custom sites.

    Good luck all :)

I am adding a excellent article on web designing. This article clears all doubts people ask themselves [EDIT: no, you shouldn't have a website if you don't know how to promote it without link dropping on forum boards. Link drop removed. TheGAME1264]

Love the tutorial. Very detailed. But.... Where are the social network share links on your blog? I would love to share this tutorial on my Twitter and Facebook page. Guess I'll have to do it the hard way lol. Nice work.

Hi. I just skimmed through part one of the tutorial (the photoshop part), but before I try it, I wanted to know if it could be used in DW as well as in Master Pages?
