How to "Like" a Post on WDF (formerly Adding Reputation)

    Facebook "Like" is binary. 1 = like, 0 = don't like. How is -1, 0, 1, 5-star, 0-10, or 0-100 any better, other than that they increase the scale of the (still linear) rating system? Linear rating is linear rating, no matter the scale...

    Just because you don't "like" it (the 0), doesn't mean you "dislike" it though. Thats where your -1 comes in.

    Actually, you've revived it and there have been some interesting points made: incremental adding and subtracting of statistics for one. I had never thought of that. Plus, it gave me the push I needed to finally create a graphic I've been wanting to make for some time now, so "Thanks!"

    Well just cause you "dislike" it doesn't mean you "completely dislike" it... that's where a 0-10 scale would be even more accurate... but again, "like" serves its purpose as a binary indicator of suggested vs. not suggested. "Haven't seen it" isn't a state... it's one explanation why you might not have suggested something...

    It's not really a flaw - it's TheGame's Way. This is a code of conduct, much like The Cowboy Way or The Warrior's Way, and it has to do with examining everything from angles not visible to us mere mortals, and finding a way to interpret things both literally and figuratively, at the same time. It is an arduous Way, and requires much fortitude and sacrifice to become proficient, which is why TheGame is a lonely, lonely man. Behind a brick wall with a plunger. ;)
