HTML 5 and CSS 3 , the main features I can see are:

    Playing video and audio -

    Canvas tag -

    Round edges for Divs -

    Are there any other features.

I just dont see how HTML 5 is gonna eliminiate flash for animation effects/websites. Even though I know it takes so long for flash sites to load and the factor that apple wont allow flash to be played on apple devices.

Also anyone know are Adobe gonna incorporate HTML 5 selectors, tags in Dreamweaver!

    Best Regards

    Patrick

Several people I know that have the latest and greatest DW say there is a plugin to add all HTML5 that are currently supported...( about 60% of them )

It's not about getting rid of flash... Adobe gave up on their dream of FLASH DOMINACE several years ago, they are currently producing a new program that utilizes HTML5 at it's core... expected full support for HTML5 in DW is their next release

and a properly design flash site will load like any other... it's the ones that are created using crappy logic and understanding that take forever to load...

HTML5 is all about the next level of standards on the "display" level... for years, designers have been having to cobble things together in the name of "cross browser" compatibly, with HTML 5, if and when all browsers support all tags ( doubtful , but hopeful ), HTML 5 will make it easier for "designers" to envision their designs using a single set of standards... period.

Look up Geolocation and Local Storage under HTML5. most people (including me) loved XHTML because it appeared to be well structured (strict rules), which made sense to me. HTML5 is going in the opposite direction (very loose), which has it's pros and cons. Read this article 5 things I hate about HTML5

CSS3 offers animation now and in due time you will not need to write javascript codes for simple animations, even now you can do this but it's not supported by IE9 and lower. As far as replacing Flash goes, HTML5 is not even close. Adobe gave up on Flash due to pressure from Apple and other Flash Haters. What college kid do you know that can earn $100k per year by being an expert in HTML5. This has actually happened with Flash and probably can still happen based on the skill level, imagination and ability to create great online video games.

Adobe has Edge now which incorporates HTML5, CSS3 and Javascript. People use to complain about ugly and noisy Flash sites, wait until this authoring tool goes full throttle? Guarantee you will hear the same moan and groans.

I'm gonna download Edge now. Yeah XHTML Strict and CSS mean less html code and neater code in general which is good for browser times. I will take a look at those links.

    Cheers
