Need help on IRS W-9 Form for Adsense.

    I am signed up for Google Adsense but I need help on filling out this W-9 form. I was wondering what exactly backup withholding is and if I need to be exempt from it.

    At the bottom, in the little agreements part it says that you can be exempt if you haven't been notified by the IRS you're not exempt "as a result of a failure to report all interest or dividends" but I was wondering how I would go about reporting all interest and dividends to them so that I might be exempt... but still legally reporting and whatnot.

    If any of this is unclear, I will attempt to clarify in future posts.

    Basically, I need to know how to go about reporting interest and dividends to the IRS if I quality. I am a individual going about doing this... and I'm new to the whole tax thing as I am only 18. Any help is appreciated!

    Honestly, ask your parents. The answers to some of it depend on how they file their taxes.
