Im working on Illustrator CS3 and I dont understand the alignment tool. I want to align a vector fill word over a solid fill and I've used the align tool but when I magnify the screen I can always tell its a little bit off. :( Helps!
Does anyone have a "poor-man's" explanation of how the alignment tool "reasons" --? Thanks.

    :)

Sorry it took me so long to reply - I've been really busy with tax season. Here's a screen shot - Its just fractionally off and I was wondering if there was a way to make the two text selections be straight up - 1oo% on top of each other using the alignment tool. Thanks for your input!

I have noticed that the more I zoom in on a design the more my nudge tool works appropriately. In other words if I am zoomed way out, when I nudge (using my arrow keys & the move tools selected), it will nudge it to a greater degree. If I zoom way, way in and I nudge, the amount it nudges it is smaller. I hope that helps!

For Align the Object s use the short cut key (Shift + F7) otherwise follow the step window and click on Align and Select all your objects that you wish to align your selection tool otherwise go to the align panel, click on Horizontal Align Center and Vertical Align Center and Chose the option you want.
