I don't want to crash this post completely, so let me just say that vbulletinhosting would never get my money. ;)

    Forum hosting

    Hi All,

Do you think it's a good idea for a host to have dedicated forum hosting packages in addition to web hosting and streaming packages?

How much would you be prepared to pay? Which forums would you recommend?

We're currently installing Ikonboard 3.11 and invision forums for people - and looking into using phpBB. Any thoughts?

Yup. I'm suspicious as to whether the whole site was a scam to begin with, but Jelsoft certainly got burned.

I've now scrapped the Ikonboard idea - it uses too many resources (CPU Time) - I'm now using IBForums - www.ibforums.com ... it seems much better - and written by the original Ikonboard developer! ;)

Yep, both phpBB and IBForums are free and really good forums ... I see no reason to pay for forums to be honest when you can get so much for free. If either of these started charging a small fee I think I'd pay if it was reasonable .. my clients may think differently though! ;)

    Heh thats funny:D

My Host is really good - I get unlimited everything except Bandwidth and Space, and I have 800Mb and 14Gb/month for $16/month:)

XMB was my next favourite board other than vB:)
