The requirements for installing and running vBMS are listed below. They are essentially the same as vBulletin's system requirements with some extras. If you are unsure of if you meet these requirements, you can e-mail your web hosting company.
| Requirement | Minimum | Recommended (or later) |
|---|---|---|
| vBulletin | 3.0.0 RC 4 | 3.0.3 |
| PHP "imap" extension required |
4.3.0 | 4.3.4 |
| MySQL | 3.23.49 | 4.0.17 |
| POP3 server with unused "catch-all" account | ||
vBMS requires vBulletin. That is, it will not work with other forum software such as phpBB, or standalone. Note that support for vBulletin 3.5 is unknown.
1The use of the term "unlimited" denotes that the only limition is that of PHP or MySQL and not of vBMS.
2Forums modified from the original vBulletin installation may require additional installation steps.
3Heavily modified forums, particurally those with a light-on-dark color scheme, may require slightly more customization.
Download Will vBMS Run.zip, extract vbms_willitrun.php and upload it to your forums' admincp directory, then view it in your browser. It will check most of the system requirements for you, and make suggestions if a certain requirement is not met.
