vBulletin 3 Statement

This page is obsolete as it describes an older version of vBMS. Please refer to the current vBulletin 3 version instead.

However, if you are still using vBulletin 2, then this page accurately describes the feature set of vBMS 1, available to any vBMS license holder, including new license holders.

Below are some screenshots showing various features of the vBulletin Mail System. Note that their appearance will differ when installed on your forums: these are using Web Design Forums.net's style set. Click a screenshot to view a full-size image.

End-User Views

Mail's Inbox. Note how unread messages are distinguished in multiple places. Also note the envelope icon in the header; this shows up on all pages whenever new mail is received. Reading the highlighted messages in the previous screenshot.
Replying to the previous message. Note the extra checkboxes at the bottom of the page. The address book. Note that you can e-mail any forum user, provided that they allow e-mails from other forum members, just by typing in their name.
Folder management. Folders allow you to organize mail and make filters much more powerful. Filters: one of the more powerful features of Mail. Notice how they read just like plain English. They can be set to scan various parts of a message the moment it arrives and then decide to delete it, move it to a custom folder, or leave it alone.

Administrative Views

The options you can configure to control various aspects of Mail. The new permission added when editing or creating a usergroup.
The simple interface for the install script (adds around 60 new templates and replacements, and modifies database).
